Recipients for 2017

1. Fund a “special experience” for terminally ill breast cancer patients and their loved ones – The Pink Tribute Fund
We are now able to confirm that Pink Tribute are continuing with our Pink Tribute Fund and, after constructive communication, have added Aarhus University Hospital to our list!

The Pink Tribute Fund is a special fund for incurably ill women with breast cancer in Denmark. Patients cannot themselves make an application, but the nurses in charge will collaborate at Herlev Hospital, Rigshospitalet and now most recently Aarhus University Hospital . They will elect patients they believe to be especially in need and deserving.
The decision to designate a patient with funds will not only be dependant on their illness, but also their social and economical situation, so that The Pink Tribute Fund can help where it is believed it may make a “big difference” in the patient’s life.
Thank you as always to the nursing sector, who are always so busy, but are willing to do this extra work for the good of others <3

2.
Support Physiotherapist Kira Bloomquist & the Dragon Boat Team for Florence 2018
A physical therapist since 1998, Kira Bloomquist has been working in the clinical research environment through her affiliation with “Krop og Kræft” at the University Hospitals Center for Health Research (UCSF), Rigshospitalet. In 2012 she received a Master in Health Science, and is currently working on her PhD focusing on heavy-resistance exercise in breast cancer survivors at risk for developing arm lymphedema.

An advocate for encouraging breast cancer survivors to lead an active life both during treatment and beyond, Kira initiated the establishment of the first Danish dragon boat team to participate in an International Breast Cancer Paddling Commission Dragon boat festival-  in Florence, Italy July 2018.

To support Physiotherapist Kira Bloomquist and her fantastic supportive work at Krop & Kræft and with breast cancer patients and lymphatic drainage treatment, Pink Tribute have just donated a specified sum towards specialist and necessary sportswear for the dragon boat team of breast cancer patients, who are currently training extremely hard for the July 2018 event in Florence! Kira and we will keep you posted, so watch this space in the new year!

3. Krop & Kræft
Have long been beacons of support for patients before, during and after breast cancer treatment. It is for this reason, that the Pink Tribute Committee have yet again donated to their cause, and are providing much needed loud speaker equipment for their training centres.

Recipients for 2016

1. Fund a “special experience” for terminally ill breast cancer patients and their loved ones – The Pink Tribute Fund
Pink Tribute has created a special fund for terminally ill patients with breast cancer. Patients cannot themselves make an application, but the nurses in charge will collaborate with nursing groups at breast cancer clinics at Herlev and RH, and will elect patients they believe to be especially in need and deserving. The Pink Tribute fund helps where it is believed it may make a “big difference” in the patient’s situation.

2. Trine Foged Henriksen – Breast construction surgery booklet and app
There are many offers regarding breast reconstruction, they all vary considerably, and vary between regions. All these various approaches to breast reconstruction can appear overwhelming, and often this is not helped when researching further on the internet where information can also vary immensely and be difficult to understand.

The purpose of writing the book/app is therefore to give women the possibility to obtain scientific information of diverse reconstruction possibilities, as well as the pro’s and con’s with each type. In addition, there will be information on implant types and on reasons for and against choosing such an operation. Lastly, there will also be interviews with women, as well as images, to further explain the process and make it feel more authentic to those women trying to make up their own minds as to which course to follow.

It should be stressed though that this book/app is not intended to be a replacement for a personal consultation, but rather as a supplement. The aim is to have all this information ready to launch within the next 12 months.
