Pink Tribute was established in 2003

As a way to heighten awareness of and offer support to those affected by breast cancer in Denmark.

While living in Denmark, two expats – Valerie G. Brandt and Elizabeth Asbury’s  families were touched by breast cancer, so they resolved to do something to help.

Together with a Dane – Birgitte Krejsager – they organised the first Pink Tribute in 2003. It was a Luncheon & Fashion Show held at Rydhave, the residence of the American Ambassador, kindly hosted by Wilma Bernstein, the wife of Ambassador Stuart Bernstein.

The baton has long since been passed onto new committee members over the years, and Michaela, Pia, and Dorte are proud to continue this tradition.

Since 2003, Pink Tribute has held luncheon and evening fundraising events at the private residences of Ambassadors for Britain, Canada, France, Luxembourg, Mexico, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States to continue ongoing support of breast cancer related causes. Our latest fundraiser in 2023 was held at the Mexican Ambassador’s residence in Hellerup.

We hope to count on our past, current and future loyal supporters. Do reach out with any questions.

Meet the committee —

Pink Tribute Committee Chairman

Michaela Gade

After three years in France managing an antique and jewellery business, I then returned to Denmark, first completing an Economics and Public Relations bachelor at Niels Brocks Handelsakademi, and then taking on a corporate marketing position at the international firm.

Since Pink Tribute was established in 2003, I have followed its progression, first as a guest and then as Pink Tribute Committee Chairman since 2010.

Committee member

Dorte Berg Berghard

For several years, I administered an office community in Kalkbrænderihavnen. In 2010, I embarked on an exciting venture as a part owner of Muccia Cashmere. Together, we successfully expanded our brand’s presence in Denmark, Sweden, and Norway, establishing both webshop and retail channels.

I am currently employed at Me & Audrey jewellers

Committee member

Pia Bodum

After school I travelled to Switzerland and France to learn languages. Having finished my education I worked in our family business.

I was involved in the opening of the Ronald McDonald House by Rigshospitalet in 2002-a house for parents of children in care in the hospital who can live there. A home from home. Volunteering there for almost 7 years taught me a lot about people. I still sit on the Board of the family business.
