All members work on a strictly volunteer basis so that 100% of the money we raise is donated to organizations that are actively researching, teaching, diagnosing, treating and supporting people affected by breast cancer.
Pink Tribute’s Committee Chairman
I am Danish, married, and have 2 children aged 24 and 27. After three years in France managing an antique and jewellery business, I then returned to Denmark, first completing an Economics and Public Relations bachelor at Niels Brocks Handelsakademi, and then taking on a corporate marketing position at the international firm ISS.
Since having children, I have freelanced as event manager, arranging conferences for larger Danish companies. I also work for the Henry and Mary Skov Foundation.
Since Pink Tribute was established in 2003, I have followed its progression, first as a guest and then as Pink Tribute Committee Chairman since 2010. I find it a moving experience, not only to help in the journey to find a cure for breast cancer, but also to be part of a team which endeavours to support those affected and touched by the disease. The fact that so many in the community back us, contribute and support us so willingly in our quest is enriching and of great importance to me.
Tone Bondevik Westlie
I’m Norwegian and having lived in Copenhagen for 7 years, have now moved back to Oslo.
We have 2 children aged 25 and 27. I am now working in a company called Sandsynligvis AS- involved in media and films and events – in Oslo. My background includes seven years in the Norwegian Military Officer’s School and an engineering education. I have always been active in charity work.
The fight against breast cancer is a cause which is very important to me especially since being diagnosed five years ago and going through five surgical proceedures. I also have friends and family suffering from the disease.
I intend to incorporate my event planning expertise to make Pink Tribute even more of a successful fundraiser.
Becca Shaw Frandsen
I am British, spent my childhood years in S.E Asia and Spain, although was educated in the United Kingdom.
My Danish husband and I have two daughters, who are 20 and 22 and have been brought up here in Denmark.
I studied the Baccalaureate in Oxford, and have a Bachelor degree in Business & Psychology from the University of London. I stayed in London to work in commodity trading and shipping.
My career path in DK has been at BIMCO and ASW and more recently as proof reader/translator (Georg Jensen, Shane Brox, Royal Copenhagen, Lannoo Publishing, Saga Furs, KiinKiin, FildeFer.dk).
I enjoy travel, art, food, reading, family life, friendship and voluntary work. Although I have followed Pink Tribute since its inception fourteen years ago, this is my seventh year as a committee member. I am also involved with the Danish Red Cross and the British charity Katie’s Lymphodema Fund, which first started my quest for prevention, treatment and support in the breast cancer area.
I moved from Norway to Denmark in the mid 80’s, where I took a bachelor in economics at Handelshøjskolen Syd, and then a master at Copenhagen Business School. Denmark has been my home ever since. My husband is Danish and we have two wonderful children. My career has been as consultant and head of various sales divisions in the financial and insurance world – namely GE Capital, Zurich Insurance, and Tryg. The experience garnered from this has led me to the Excecutive Search and Talent Management area, focusing on diversity in all its aspects.
Too many of my friends have been diagnosed with breast cancer. All have been through treatment and luckily cured, but it is a tough journey and takes its toll both physically and mentally. I have followed Pink Tribute for several years, by participating in their events. It is a fantastic organisation, which has achieved incredible results, and whose aim is to contribute to research and finding new methods, both by way of treatment, but also within the area of prevention.
My contribution as committee member will be to secure that the solid platform already built by the organisation retains and use my leadership- and negotiation skills in contact with stakeholders, to ensure growth in the fundraising going forward.
